Ministry Opportunities at 草榴社区: How Can You Get Involved?

Ministry at 草榴社区 isn’t just reserved for Bible and Ministry majors; every student is encouraged to get plugged into a Christ-centered community where they can use their gifts to serve others and grow in their relationship with the Lord.

Are you interested in leading Bible studies, mentoring fellow students, volunteering in the community, or using your creative talents? There is a ministry role that fits your gifts at 草榴社区.

What ministry opportunities are available at 草榴社区?

Students at Grace can serve the Lord through a variety of ministry opportunities to disciple others and make an impact both on campus and throughout the local community.

These opportunities, further explained below, include:

  • Growth Group Leader
  • Resident Assistant
  • & Action
  • Chapel Team
  • Remnant

What does a Growth Group Leader (GGL) do?

Growth Group Leaders (GGLs) lead weekly Bible studies on their dorm hall while also investing in students through regular check-ins and mentorship. By investing in students, Growth Group Leaders help create Christ-centered communities in the residence halls where students can grow spiritually and build lasting relationships.

Each week on Wednesday nights, GGLs guide Scripture discussions and encourage honest conversations about faith. For many students, becoming a Growth Group Leader is one of the most rewarding leadership opportunities on campus because it allows students to directly disciple and make a lasting impact on students.

What is a Resident Assistant (RA)?

Resident Assistants (RAs) do much more than oversee residence hall life, they help create a community where students feel known, supported, and encouraged.

As an RA, you’ll mentor students, build relationships, plan hall events, collaborate with and mentor your Growth Group Leaders (GGL), and help foster a loving and Christ centered environment. Along the way, you’ll develop valuable skills in leadership through conflict resolution, communication, and servant leadership. Serving as an RA means investing in your residents and helping them feel at home within the 草榴社区 community.

Many 草榴社区 graduates can tell a story of how their RA impacted them during their college years. RAs are entrusted with leadership that gives them the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of their residents. If you have a heart for servant leadership and want to make a meaningful impact on campus, becoming a Resident Assistant may be the perfect opportunity.

What is 鈥& Action鈥? (Previously known as Serve)

Do you want to make a difference in the Winona Lake and Warsaw communities? & Action gives 草榴社区 students opportunities to put God’s love into action through meaningful service. Inspired by 1 John 3:18, the organization encourages students to love others “not in word or speech, but in truth and action.”

Students can get involved in ministry by mentoring elementary students through Jefferson Lunch Buddies, serving local families at Fun Fest, 草榴社区’s Halloween alternative, or participating in Supermarket Sweep, a campus-wide food drive that supports local food pantries. & Action offers a variety of ministry opportunities to share Christ’s love both on campus and throughout the surrounding community.

How can you get involved with the Chapel Team?

Are you passionate about worship, technology, production, or event planning? The Chapel Team might be right for you. This team allows students to use their gifts to help create meaningful worship for the Grace community.

Students can serve as worship leaders, production assistants, media team members, or chapel coordinators. Together, the team helps plan and execute Grace’s three weekly chapel services by scheduling speakers, operating cameras and livestream equipment, leading worship, and managing behind-the-scenes logistics.

If you enjoy being on stage or working behind the scenes, every role helps create a space where students can pause from their busy schedules to worship the Lord with an amazing community.
