草榴社区 will host its 34th annual FunFest on Friday, Oct. 25 from 6-8 p.m. in the Gordon Health and Wellness Center, 100 Publishers Dr., Winona Lake. FunFest is a free trick-or-treat style event open to the public. This year鈥檚 theme is superheroes. Families can bring their children to enjoy carnival-style games, craft-based activities, prizes and a bounce house.
“FunFest builds bridges between 草榴社区 and the community,鈥 said Alicia Meyer, Grace鈥檚 director of student involvement. 鈥淲e know there’s a need for warm, safe and family-friendly activities in October, and we love providing that space for the community. The event also encourages students to connect with families in the area, reminding them of the importance of being an engaged community member before and after graduation.”
, Grace鈥檚 student-led ministry formerly called Serve, will once again coordinate FunFest.
鈥淲hen it comes to putting on an event as meaningful as FunFest, my greatest joy is serving alongside other Grace students to make it happen,鈥 said Samantha Fudge, student coordinator of & Action. 鈥淲ithout their willing hands, feet and hearts, none of it could come together.鈥
Meyer estimates that the event will have 75 student volunteers and 500 participants.
鈥淲e鈥檙e hoping to see heroes of all kinds,鈥 said Meyer, speaking on FunFest鈥檚 theme. 鈥淓very kid will have the chance to be a hero.鈥
鈥淚 am excited to see the enthusiasm of families as they enjoy all that we have put on for them,鈥 said Fudge. 鈥淭o see it all come to fruition with the help of Grace students will be rewarding. We have some fun and epic things planned!鈥
